Dunhill Links Experience

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is perhaps the most famous event on the European Tour. It is played over 3 of Scotland’s greatest links golf courses in either late September or early October each year and is unique on the European Tour as it incorporates raising money for charity and competitive play not just with the European Tour professionals but also with famous keen golfing amateurs from the world of celebrity. Regulars include Justin Timberlake and Bill Murray to name but two of the great many famous golf lovers who give generously to enjoy the thrill of Scotland’s beautiful links golf.

The 3 courses in this event are Open Championship venue Carnoustie, highly respected Kingsbarns and of course the famous Old Course at St Andrews itself.

Now you can walk in the footsteps of the famous and the golfing greats playing these courses on a bucket list Scottish golf tour. Find out more.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

Alfred Dunhill was an inventor and entrepreneur born in 1872. He established a luxury goods brand and his company Dunhill remains a purveyor of fine clothing and luxury gifts to this day.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is an annual event on golf’s European Tour. Unlike other events on the Tour the Alfred Dunhill Links incorporates two separate competitions; an individual event and a team event. The team event is a pro-am competition which attracts famous golfers from the world of entertainment, business and sport.

Carnoustie Golf Links

I love Carnoustie. Venue for the 2018 Open Championship and so many more before that, yet it has an understated feel.  St Andrews draws all the attention but the atmosphere in Carnoustie is simpler. Links golf the way it should be.

Walk in the footsteps of all the greats of golf and tackle this beautiful golf course. You may be lulled it a false sense of security as it is not a monster, until, that is, those last 5 holes.

Kingbarns Links

A relatively new golf course on the scene and sitting on the land of the beautiful Cambo Estate, Kingsbarns didn’t take long to find itself on the list of the best golf courses in the world. It has never hosted the Open itself but has hosted many top tournaments.

Some say it is overpriced but if you play, for example Turnberry, you’ll get better value for your top dollar on the undulating sand dune resting fairways and greens on this seaside spectacular golf links course.

St Andrews Old Course

What is there to say about the Old Course at St Andrews that hasn’t already been said?  This course is on more bucket lists than any other Scottish golf course and while the famous Old Course itself can’t possibly live up to the expectation, just being in St Andrews, the town, with so many golf courses to choose from in a rarefied atmosphere is a memory that lives long in the mind.
