Merchants of Edinburgh  – short but the hillly nature makes it both a challenge and provides variety and beauty

Duddingston GC – Lovely parkland golf course

Braid Hills – Value for money with great views and a real test of keeping your ball on the fairway with all that gorse

Musselburgh – Parkland course just outside Edinburgh towards the East Lothian Links courses

Dalmahoy East and West courses – The Championship East has hosted the Scottish Senior Open and the Solheim Cup. The West is excellent value for money, shorter but to a high standard of green keeping

Royal Burgess Golfing Society – Close to Bruntsfield Links GC and no less historic – the clubhouse memorabilia is areal treat

Baberton GC – A parkland course with excellent hole variety and design

 

There are other courses that we should mention as worth consdiering. Mortonhall, Murrayfield, Liberton, Swanston, Prestonfield, Craigmillar Park, Silverknowes, Kingsknowe, Turnhouse, Ratho Park Golf Club, Gogarburn, Carricknowe & Craigentinny.

 

I should mention the Oldest Golf Course in the World – Musselburgh Old Links. This club is over 9 holes and mostly set in the middle of a horse race track. It is played as a bucket list course rather than a true test of golf.
